If your roughing it in wilderness.This will definitely upgrade your sleep system.If your using a sleeping pad place the reflective side face down to block the ground from sucking up your heat.

I adhered these pads to the inside of my sailboat hull for insulation...the result is better than I thought it would be. A boat hull absorbs UV radiation/heat from the sun and that heat is radiated inside the hull/cabin. This insulation has decreased the average heat on a sunny day by maybe 10 degrees or so inside the boat. Great.

We purchased these for a cold weather camping to put underneath our regular camp pads. They were recommended by a friend who does a lot of extreme backpacking and she did not steer us wrong. We've camped in sub 20 degrees twice with these and did not have issues with the cold Earth (but we did also have two sleeping bags each). They've held up for two car camping trips so far. One now has a rip on the foil due to carelessness but it should hold up fine with a little duct tape.
