Collection: Outdoor Knives

A good blade is the one tool you never want to be without, and ASR Outdoor stocks outdoor knives for every job. Carry a folding pocket knife or compact EDC multitool for daily tasks, reach for a full-tang fixed blade in tanto, drop point, or recurve for hard use, or pack a hunting knife and hatchet for the field. We also carry fishing fillet knives, fire-starter survival knives, and dual-grit sharpening stones to keep every edge keen. Whether you camp, hunt, fish, or just want a dependable everyday carry, find your knife below.

Choosing an Outdoor Knife

Fixed blade vs. folding knife, which should I choose?

A fixed blade is stronger and easier to clean, with no moving parts to fail, which makes it the choice for hunting, survival, and hard use. A folding knife trades some strength for a compact, pocket-friendly size that is ideal for everyday carry and light tasks. Many people carry one of each.

What blade shape is best for what?

A drop point is the versatile all-rounder, great for hunting and general use. A tanto has a strong piercing tip favored for tactical use. A recurve blade adds slicing and chopping power for bushcraft, while a hawkbill excels at pull cuts. Pick the shape that matches the work you do most.

What is full tang, and why does it matter?

Full tang means the blade steel runs the entire length of the handle in one piece, instead of a thin strip pinned inside. That makes the knife far stronger and able to take the shock of chopping, prying, or batoning wood, which is why our survival and hunting fixed blades are full tang.

Which knife is best for hunting and fishing?

For hunting, a fixed blade with a gut hook makes field dressing cleaner and faster. For fishing, a flexible fillet knife with a floating handle helps you work around bone and is easy to recover if it goes overboard. Both come with a sheath for safe carry.

How do I keep my knife sharp?

A dual-grit sharpening stone is all most people need, work the edge on the coarse side to reset it, then finish on the fine side to polish it. A few passes after each outing keeps a blade sharp far longer than letting it go dull and grinding it back.

Knife or hatchet for camp?

For splitting kindling and chopping, a hatchet does what a knife cannot, and several of ours add a hammer poll or gut hook. Pair one with a good fixed blade and you are set. Round out your kit with our camping gear and survival gear.
