IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION:

Melting metals involves extreme temperatures and molten material capable of causing severe burns or fire. Always use appropriate heat-resistant gloves, eye and face protection, protective clothing, proper crucible-handling tools and equipment rated for the temperatures involved. Work only in a well-ventilated, fire-resistant area away from combustible materials.

Inspect the graphite crucible before every use and do not use a crucible that is cracked, damaged or significantly worn. Keep the crucible, tools and material being melted completely dry; introducing moisture to molten metal can cause rapid steam expansion and dangerous splattering. Heat and cool the crucible gradually when possible to reduce thermal stress, and never handle a crucible until it has completely cooled. Follow all safety instructions provided with your furnace, torch or other melting equipment.
